Why Retain A Professional Marine Surveyor? -- Anyone can claim to be a surveyor, but only a select few can represent themselves as an Accredited Marine Surveyor (AMS). It takes annual training seminars and technical training classes to become and maintain the status of, Accredited Marine Surveyor (AMS). As a Accredited Marine Surveyor we can develop a realistic and dependable indication of the condition, value of a marine vessel (pleasure or commercial) that the owners, buyers, insurance underwriters and financial institutions may rely upon. Modern day vessels which are constructed with high-tech materials and can no longer can be surveyed and inspected by the old "knuckle tapping" technique. The older wooden hulls need a professional Marine Surveyor with extensive training and experience on wood vessel construction. Surveyors are the vital key that provide buyers with accurate information on the boat they wish to purchase or maintain. Boats being purchased with financing and insurance require a full marine survey on all vessels. Surveyors inspect the engines, hull, stringers, electronics and all mechanical equipment, interior, safety equipment, bilge, sea trials, engine oil analysis, valuations, recommendations, and provide a detailed report with pictures. Make certain it is clear in the report that the surveyor has inspected the boat for compliance with the boating safety standards set by the National Fire Protection Association (N.F.P.A.) and the American Boat and Yacht Council (A.B.Y.C.), as well as U.S. Coast Guard standards. Professional Marine surveys are performed in and out of the water, At dockside or dry-dock. Our detailed and comprehensive survey reports are completed and in hand within twenty-four (24) hours of the completion of the onboard portion of the survey. We have extensive experience in pre-purchase and financial surveys, insurance surveys, bank and estate appraisals, sea trails and yacht donation consulting and appraising. And, as an additional benefit for all my clients as your marine surveyor, you will never ever be charged for phone consulting on any marine related question. If you should have a claim for insurance coverage, We represent you, not the insurance underwriter. We never have and never negotiate any damage adjusting or consulting for any insurance underwriter when working for our customers. You are assured of my total allegiance to you as our client.
